Chit Chat Neapolitan Slice

Bring the excitement to your next lunchtime treat with this colourful layered slice!

Ingredients

For the base:

  • 1 packet of Griffin’s Chit Chat biscuits
  • 50g Butter, melted

 

For the filling:

  • ½ cup Boiling Water
  • 3 tsp Gelatin Powder
  • 395g tin of Condensed Milk

 

For the topping:

  • 1 packet of Strawberry Jelly
  • 1 tsp Gelatin Powder

Instructions
  1. Grease and line a square tin, being careful to leave enough baking paper on the sides to help you remove it from the tin once set.
  2. To make the base, crumb the Chit Chat biscuits in a food processor and blitz until breadcrumb texture. Add the melted butter and blitz again until combined.
  3. Press the base mixture into a rectangular tin. Place in the fridge to cool while you prepare the filling.
  4. To make the filling: In a large bowl, combine the boiling water and 3 teaspoons of gelatine. Stir until the gelatine dissolves before adding the condensed milk. Whisk to fully combine and pour the mixture onto the refrigerated base.
  5. To make the topping, follow the jelly packet instructions to prepare the jelly. Whisk in 1 tsp of gelatine powder and allow the mixture to cool to room temperature before pouring onto the chilled slice.
  6. Refrigerate again for a few hours until the jelly is fully set.
  7. Remove the slice from the tin and cut into squares.
  8. Enjoy!
