Gingernuts Apple Crumble

Go big on flavour and light on cost with this delicious Gingernuts Apple Crumble made for less than $20!


For the Filling:

  • 1kg Apples*, peeled and cubed
  • 1/2 cup White Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Flour
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon


For the Crumble Topping:

  • 1 packet of Griffin's Gingernuts Biscuits, crushed
  • 3/4 cup Flour
  • 60g Butter, cold and cubed


*We used Royal Gala but any apples will work

  1. Preheat the oven to 180C or 170C Fan-Bake.
  2. Add the apples, sugar, cinnamon, and tablespoon of flour to a bowl and toss to combine.
  3. In a separate bowl, rub the cold butter into 3/4 cup of flour until the mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs. Add in the crushed Gingernuts and mix well.
  4. Spread the apple mixture evenly in a baking dish and sprinkle over the crumble.
  5. Cover in tinfoil and bake for 20 minutes, before removing the tinfoil and baking for another 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Serve with cream or ice cream and enjoy!
